The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship continues to hold space for a variety of programs that are relative today in a diverse and multi-faceted society. As faith communities are challenged to stay current with fast-moving media and never-ending news cycles, the fellowship offers a place to slow down.
This Sunday, Dec. 14, we will host the Going Deeper Sharing Circle from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
This week, fourth in the series from the “On Being” podcast, we will hear an excerpt with Ocean Vuong.
A poet, novelist, essayist and professor of creative writing in the MFA program at New York University, Vuong is a teacher with words about words and also about bearing witness to the other side of violence, and the possibility of joy, said Krista Tippet, host of “On Being.” This session is about speaking hope into being.
With space for reflection and sharing, we practice the art of listening. This small-group setting is a place to practice not only deep listening, but sharing from our hearts with others, and can lead toward building a beloved community. Light refreshments are offered, and all are invited to join in this open group.
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the annual Winter Solstice Gathering to be held Sunday morning, Dec. 21. The morning will begin with a drum circle and will culminate in festivities and fellowship.
Our Community Hub hosts the weekly Tara Meditation Group Sunday evenings, now meeting at an earlier time — 4:30 to 6 p.m. Learn more at our website, PagosaUU.org.
This meditation practice is also available online, and with winter weather upon us, we encourage those interested to email us to receive email reminders. Visit the website listed for more information.
The Wise and Wakeful Circle, meeting the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, is open to all individuals who align with the values of respect, peace and authentic connection. These one-hour gatherings offer meditation, inspiration and connection. Check it out this week, and stay tuned for a special program offer that will take place in January.
