Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship book club to meet Sunday

Posted

As we settle in anticipating the first snow this season, being part of a book group makes sense.

As a faith tradition that embraces life-long learning, the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship offers a newly formed book group for the fourth Sunday each month.

We have spent the year engaging in ways to live our values in the world with our Action Sunday. This Sunday morning, Nov. 23, at 10:30 a.m., we will continue with “Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection” by Deepa Iyer, which tells us, “The framework of the book embodies an ecosystem approach, which means that when we play our roles, deepen our connections and nurture relationships, we can more effectively and quickly reach our common goals.”

It is not too late to join us in this workbook-style learning. If you’re interested, show up. We even have a book for loan. Nov. 30 is a fifth Sunday, which our fellowship has designated as an opportunity for rest as a spiritual practice.

We are honored to be a part of the Pagosa Pride community, and will hold space this coming Thursday, Nov. 20, to host a gathering for Trans Day of Remembrance, at 6 p.m. All are welcome to join in the spirit of education and connection as we build a welcoming place for all.

The UU Community Hub offers space for on-going programs and events. Check out PagosaUU.org for updated information.

The Wise and Wakeful Circle meets the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 10 a.m. Facilitated by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, this group welcomes all who are interested in authentic connection with self and others.

Meditation and Qigong practices are offered most weeks, and more information can be found in the current newsletter, also found on the website.

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located at Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing Pagosa Peak.

We are grateful for the many community organizations that have provided services to the wider community. If you’re looking for a spiritual home with a close connection to justice work, visit or find us online. You are welcome here.
