The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship Sunday services for June will focus on Pride Month, and congregational organization and planning.
We come together to wonder, explore, learn and be inspired to take action in living our values in the world.
We invite all to join us most Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This month is a bit different as we hold special fellowship events. As we continue to grow and gather for spiritual nourishment, we take time to celebrate with the wider community and focus on some fellowship business.
Along with the fellowship’s programming, we host a variety of community endeavors to build community and spiritual growth:
• Tara Meditation Group and Dharma Practice: Sundays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Qi Gong Practice: Mondays at 1 p.m.
• Wise and Wakeful Circle – 2nd & 4th Saturdays at 10 a.m.
You can find us at the Greenbriar Plaza, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. Unit B-15, on the north side facing Pagosa Peak.
We also offer Zoom services the first and third Sundays of the month. Find our current newsletter at PagosaUU.org for the link to join on Zoom and further information.
Following is a schedule of Sunday services and programs for June:
• June 7: Sunday Service, 10:30 a.m. — “What You Need to Know About the Anti-Trans Movement” from the organization Transforming Hearts Collective.
We take this month to recognize and honor the LGBTQ+ community as a Welcoming Congregation.
We will share an informative and enlightening video which provides an overview of the anti-trans political movement, where it came from, and some of the threats that trans people in the U.S. are currently facing. It offers facts to counter some of the worst misinformation that is a central part of the anti-trans movement’s tactics to erode public support for trans people. This is part of a series from the Transforming Hearts Collective, which “represents a vision of a world in which queer and trans people can show up fully as ourselves in all of the places we call home.” Discussion will follow.
The Pagosa UU Fellowship is one of the faith sponsors of Pagosa Pride, and we hope to see you at Town Park on Saturday, June 13, to celebrate.
• June 14: Going Deeper Sharing Circle, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
This small-group setting is where we practice deep listening and sharing from our hearts. The themes for this group vary each month, but all are welcome in this open and safe circle.
• June 21: Celebrating the summer solstice at the Annual Fellowship Picnic. We honor the turn of the wheel for the summer solstice with music, ritual and community. This event is held at the home of one our members. Email us if you’re interested.
• June 28: Fellowship Planning Retreat. There will be no Sunday service at the fellowship.
