The Pagosa Peak Genealogical Society will hold its next monthly meeting on Saturday, July 12, at the Community United Methodist Church, 434 Lewis St. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m.
We will begin with a short business meeting where you can learn about the upcoming activities of our society and the topic of future programs.
Following the business meeting, we will view a video from RootsTech 2025 entitled “Beyond the Brick Wall: Strategies for Pre-1850 U.S. Research.” The presenter will be Julia Anderson, a research specialist at the Family Research Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Anderson begins by introducing pre-1850 research. She then reviews pre-1850 record types, explains some helpful strategies and presents some research tips. The bulk of the presentation is a case study to demonstrate how all of this can help you find answers to your pre-1850 research questions.
This presentation will also be very helpful for those beginning genealogy researchers on how to properly organize and document your research.
Visitors are encouraged to attend our meetings, so please join us this Saturday to learn more about this fascinating topic.
