The Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) will be hosting a 5k hike on Reservoir Hill the morning of Sept. 11 in memory of the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
Starting at 6:45 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 11, this 3.2 mile hike/ruck will start at the East Side Market and climb over Reservoir Hill to the post office before cutting back to the market through downtown.
Those who participate will receive a T-shirt, with those brave enough to ruck the route with a 40-pound pack receiving a T-shirt and pint glass.
The route will have several water stations. Those who wish to ruck the route should plan on bringing their own 40-pound packs.
Entry fees are $40 per participant, with portions of proceeds being donated to the Tunnels To Towers Foundation, an American nonprofit with various programs designed to assist veterans, firefighters and their families.
Come join firefighters, veterans and members of your community as we remember and honor the heroes, survivors and victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks through exercise and camaraderie.
