Pagosa Community Initiative launches second annual Chrystal Snow Memorial Toy Drive

The holiday season is about to get brighter in Pagosa Springs as the Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) kicks off its fourth annual toy drive — and the second year of the Chrystal Snow Memorial Toy Drive.

This cherished community tradition collects toys to bring joy and relief to Archuleta County families in need during the holidays.

Collection boxes will be placed throughout town at Walmart, Ace Hardware, Wyndham, Kip’s, Riff Raff, Bank of the San Juans, Rosie’s Pizzeria, Bliss Scoops and Sweets, the Community United Methodist Church, Pagosa Springs Barber Shop, Uncle’s, FroYo, and Pagosa Baking Company. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 12.

After Thanksgiving, volunteers will be stationed outside Walmart five days a week, providing another convenient way for community members to drop off toys. Monetary donations are also welcome — PCI volunteers will happily shop for toys on donors’ behalf.

Last year, the Chrystal Snow Memorial Toy Drive served 206 local children, ensuring that families across Archuleta County could experience the joy of the holidays.

“We especially welcome gifts for teens and toddlers or infants,” said organizers, “but every donation helps — no matter the age group.”

Those who would like to volunteer to help at the Walmart table, or to sort and distribute toys, can sign up on PCI’s volunteer page at www.pagosacommunityinitiative.org. Families wishing to register to receive toys can also sign up on the Family Services page of the website.

As the season of giving approaches, PCI invites everyone to be part of the magic that Chrystal Snow inspired — spreading love, laughter and hope one toy at a time. Every donation, big or small, helps fill hearts and homes with holiday cheer, reminding us all that the spirit of Pagosa shines brightest when we come together.
