Pagosa Catholic Community to hold new 14-part series on discovering the Holy Spirit

Is it possible to tame a wild goose? Ask anyone who has encountered Canada geese and the resounding answer will be, “No.” Geese are untamable, unpredictable and will fiercely defend their goslings from any perceived threat. Perhaps this is why Celtic Christians called the Holy Spirit the “wild goose” (in Gaelic, An Geadh-Glas).

Unraveling the mystery of the Holy Spirit is the focus of a new 14-part video series titled “Wild Goose” that is produced by award-winning creators and studios. Fr. Dave Pivonka, president of Franciscan University of Steubenville, leads the unforgettable journey into the very heart of God.

Shot in various locations across the United States, the series weaves together engaging interviews, sacred scripture and Pivonka’s own story. The study guide provides a synopsis, discussion points and a list of reflections that are all tied to holy scripture.

The goal of the series is to awaken the hearts of those attending to the transforming breath of the Holy Spirit. Viewers will be invited to discover, or rediscover, a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit in their own lives.

Ready to tame the wild goose and encounter a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit? If yes, women are invited to join Women’s Fellowship starting on Monday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m., with future gatherings scheduled every Monday at the same time. Men are invited to join Men’s Fellowship starting Oct. 13 at 6 p.m., with future gatherings every Tuesday at the same time.

Both groups meet at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church located at 353 S. Pagosa Blvd. There is no cost to attend, and participants will be provided all accompanying study resources. All are welcome.
