Have you ever seen someone fly-fishing and desired to learn how? Now’s your chance. Fly-fishing is one of the most relaxing, soul-restoring activities you can learn.
The classes are designed to teach the basics of the sport. We will focus on some history of the sport, gear usage, techniques of casting, handling of fish, finding fish in different waters (lakes, rivers, streams) and etiquette. We will also go fishing on the final day.
This is a free four-day course, spread over four Saturdays, from 9 to noon, starting on April 19 and continuing on April 26, May 3 and May 10.
Equipment is not necessary, but useful on the last two sessions (casting and fishing days). A state fishing license required for the last day.
In addition to this class, there is a gathering every Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for fly tying and fly-fishing at Pagosa Bible Church, where we go deeper into the sport.
