New Thought Center to continue series on compassion Sunday

Posted

By Shayla McClure | New Thought Center for Inspirational Living

At the Sunday service on Oct. 15 at 10:30 a.m., Larry and Evelyn Malone, marriage and family counselors, will continue our exploration of compassion, moving to its application with other individuals and groups.

“A felt sense that suffering is present coupled with motivation to act to alleviate that suffering comprises compassion. Sometimes compassion for others is easy. But when we perceive the one suffering as a potential threat to our core needs — safety, belonging and competence — it takes courage to engage compassionately. We must look past our own fear and pain to appreciate the other’s fear and pain.” — Larry and Evelyn Malone.
