As taxpayers and voters, we don’t always realize that our opinions and input to La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) are important for future direction of this vital co-op. Our voice can be heard. Therefore, we need to be educated about LPEA’s mission and what it means to Pagosa Springs residents to be a member/owner of this co-op.

At the Nov. 13 Archuleta County noon Republican Women’s (ACRW) meeting, LPEA board member Kohler McInnis will give an informative talk about the “LPEA Today and the Future” to provide the knowledgeable foundation for future citizen awareness and possible involvement.

McInnis lives in Durango with his wife, Kathleen; they have three children; the youngest is in high school. He has a background as business owner for 31 years.

ACRW meeting will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for “meet and greet” with the speaker. All are welcome.
