From the June 18, 1970, Pagosa SUN — OLD TIMER — This long deserted homesteader’s cabin in the Weminuche Valley shows the work and effort needed to build a home in the early days. All logs, doors, and window frames are hand hewn. The shingles on the roof are also hand made. The building is about to collapse but has stood there for many years.
