From the June 8, 1988, Pagosa SUN — OFFICIALLY OPEN — The new 6,500-foot by 75 foot runway at Steven’s Field has received approval from the FAA to open for operation. On Wednesday two twin-engine commuter aircraft and three U.S. Air Force “Huey” helicopter were using the new facility.
