Aubrey Ledford, a rising junior at Pagosa Springs High School, attended Yale Young Global Scholars this summer — an academic enrichment program that brings in students from more than 150 countries.

In July, Ledford spent two weeks at Yale University’s campus, where she completed the Politics of Law and Economics session.

Her studies included attending college-level seminars, lectures taught by Ivy League professors, and working on a capstone project revolving around artificial intelligence and digital governance.

She earned her certificate of completion on Aug. 11, signifying her outstanding performance on her capstone project.

“This program allowed me to question everything I thought I knew, and it turns out that I have so much more to learn,” she said.

Ledford would love to see other Pagosa Springs high schoolers branch out and apply for Yale Young Global Scholars, because not only does it allow you to study at one of the most renowned universities in the world, but it also allows you to connect with hundreds of other brilliant minds from various places.
