Jackson Mountain Ramblers to play for ninth annual Jewels and Jeans Barn Dance

If you love dancing the two-step and joining a crowd in a lively line dance, you won’t want to miss the Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs’ ninth annual Jewels and Jeans Barn Dance with fun live music by the Jackson Mountain Ramblers.

Based in Pagosa Springs, the Jackson Mountain Ramblers bring a joy-filled and energetic performance of musical craftsmanship to the stage. This acoustic band is known for catchy arrangements of popular hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, with a few originals thrown in the mix. Their motto is “Playing music we love for people we love.”

Coming together a few years ago, the Jackson Mountain Ramblers planned to play only a couple of shows at the behest of a friend. They found their music was contagious, and people demanded more.

“For the past few years, we’d get together at one of our houses on random evenings and work on songs into the night,” said vocalist Jason Rose. “Now we play in the area a couple times a month. Folks have a fun time, and we have a fun, creative outlet. We love being able to choose music from our collective pasts that speak to our souls and to others. It makes us smile when we see how it makes other people smile.”

The Jackson Mountain Ramblers offer soaring vocals, rich harmonies, a virtuosic saxophone and soul-thumping bass, along with accordion and acoustic guitar.

Add in tambourines, shakers, cajon, guiro, vibraslap, triangle and, of course, cowbell, and you have an evening of dancing and toe-tapping delight.

The Jackson Mountain Ramblers play fun and meaningful music they love for people they love. We think you’ll love them, too.
