The Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is launching its fourth annual School Supply Drive to help local students start the new school year prepared, confident and ready to learn.
Supplies may be dropped off now at the PCI offices at 550B Hot Springs Blvd. during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Aug. 22, PCI will host a Back-to-School Fair in the high school commons, where school supply items will be distributed to families and other services will be available to support youth heading into the school year.
PCI is seeking a wide range of school essentials, including backpacks, notebooks, composition books, loose-leaf paper, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, colored pencils, erasers, rulers, glue sticks, scissors, binders, folders, highlighters, pencil boxes and supply kits for students of all ages.
Donations of any kind help make sure children have the basic tools they need for classrooms, homework and projects.
Community members may also donate online at www.pagosacommunityinitiative.org by noting “school supply drive” with their gift.
PCI is the only family resource center in Archuleta County, supporting youth and families with multiple services throughout the year. This drive is one more way PCI helps remove barriers for local students and strengthens the support network for local families.
