The Southwest Opioid Response District (SWORD) is pleased to announce that eight applicants have been awarded funding totaling $466,744 in its second round of community grants.
The awardees span the Southwest Colorado region, supporting the entire continuum of care from prevention to treatment and recovery.
They include Axis Health System, Celebrate Recovery Ignacio, Healthy Archuleta, Indigenous Wellbriety, Manna Soup Kitchen, Silver Lining Recovery Homes, Southwest Health System and Team Up of Southwest Colorado.
The grants are funded through Colorado’s opioid settlement funds, allocated to Southwest Colorado and the projects must address opioid use and co-occurring behavioral health and substance use disorders in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties.
This year’s grant cycle had more than 20 applications totaling more than $1.4 million in funding requests.
