Special to The PREVIEW
Love a historic property? Need a grant to help preserve it? Join outreach specialists from the History Colorado State Historical Fund at the Pagosa Springs Community Roundtable tomorrow, Friday, June 6, at the Ross Aragon Community Center, 451 Hot Springs Blvd.
The History Colorado State Historical Fund (SHF) supports community heritage through tangible and highly visible historic preservation projects for direct and demonstrable public benefit. Since its inception, SHF has awarded 4,064 grants, totaling more than $262 million, to projects in all 64 counties. The next grant round deadline is Oct. 1.
The SHF staff will outline the grant process and show you what it takes to achieve your dream preservation project. The roundtable will begin at 10 a.m. The first 45 minutes to an hour will be a presentation about the SHF grants program and will outline the types of grants they provide, eligibility requirements and stipulations, etc. The roundtable will also go over the grant application components and suggest ways to make the application stronger and more competitive.
After the presentation, SHF will have the opportunity to open the floor to the attendees to talk about potential projects and questions they may have about the grant application or grant programs.
Please RSVP by contacting Kristi Roberts at (303) 866-3493 or Margaret Gallegos at the Town Hall, 551 Hot Springs Blvd., 264-4151, ext. 224, or email mgallegos@pagosasprings.co.gov.
