Did you ever think the word divorce would enter your life? You dated, then you found your love. You were so happy. When you were apart, all you could think about was the next time you would be together. You may have planned a wedding or eloped. You may have gone on a honeymoon trip or used your money to buy a home. Your dream of being a soulmate has become your reality. Life was bliss.
Then something happened. It all unraveled and, yes, divorce entered the picture. How could this be happening to me? How am I going to survive? My family is being torn apart. My home, my income, my health, everything I know is changing. My heart keeps beating, the sun keeps rising. How am I going to get through this divorce?
If this story sounds familiar, then DivorceCare is here to help. You will learn to understand the complexities and emotional struggles you are facing or have already experienced.
DivorceCare is a nationally recognized program that can bring healing during this difficult time. Our sessions include a video that gives you practical information from expert counselors and input from people just like you who have gone through the divorce process. The session ends with a group discussion, and a workbook is provided to help you in your journey.
This program is nondenominational and features biblical principles and insight. Everyone is welcome here. Whether you’re separated or already divorced, in the middle of the process, or if you’ve been divorced for years and still have not healed or forgiven your ex-spouse, you will find healing and help in a safe and warm environment.
The program runs for 13 weeks and will meet each Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on Aug. 25 in the Centerpoint Church library.
You can register online at www.divorcecare.org or join us at any class during the 13-week session. There is no cost for this program, and all materials are provided.

DivorceCare for Kids
DivorceCare for Kids, DC4K, is a special group to help children heal the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents.
In DC4K, kids will make friends with other children who understand how they feel and the struggles they are going through.
DC4K follows the same schedule and age-appropriate themes as the adult Divorce Care program, allowing parents and children to progress through the healing process together and providing a springboard for meaningful discussions.
DC4K is nondenominational and features biblical teaching to help children recover from the hurt they are experiencing. The program uses games, crafts, activities, music and DVD dramas to create a fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and accepted. Kids will also learn how to prepare snacks for themselves.
This program is for kids ages 5-12. Parents do not have to attend the DivorceCare class for children to participate.
We will meet on the same schedule as the adult classes, Mondays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning on Aug. 25 and continuing through Nov. 17 at Centerpoint Church.
