The Archuleta County Department of Human Services is without a director.
A request to fill the vacancy (indicating the departure of director Erlinda Gonzales) appeared on the agenda for the Board of County Commissioners’ regular meeting on Oct. 15, and followed a series of events.
In September, the Colorado Department of Human Services performed a Child Protection Program Review, which was followed up more recently with additional conversations between the state and, “county leadership, community stakeholders and staff,” according to an e-mail from Liz McDonough, communications manager for the state department.
