Colorado State University (CSU) Pueblo and GOAL High School announced a new direct admissions partnership that eliminates the traditional college application for GOAL graduates starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
Under the agreement, GOAL graduates with a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher will receive an acceptance letter and receive direct outreach from CSU Pueblo staff with financial aid, scholarships, enrollment and class registration. Students can opt into the program at any time while enrolled at GOAL via a simple form and pay no application fee.
“This helps transform a student’s narrative they might have about themselves, that they aren’t college material,” said Jason Hochevar, chief academic officer at GOAL High School and Pueblo native. “Now they believe they’re exactly the kind of person who can go to college. Direct admission gives them a concrete way to reach for something bigger by removing the barrier and making higher education something they can walk toward, instead of just imagining.”
Participating students pay no application fee and retain the option to apply to other colleges and universities.
“Because GOAL students often follow a different educational path, college may not always feel like the next step for them,” said Kristyn White Davis, CSU Pueblo’s vice president of enrollment management, marketing and extended studies. “We hope this initiative helps students see that higher education is within reach and empowers them to picture themselves at CSU Pueblo, earning a degree and achieving their goals.”
GOAL students who want to opt into the direct admissions process can complete the form at connect.csupueblo.edu/register/GOAL-DA.
GOAL High School is a statewide, multi-district charter school authorized by District 49.
