Archuleta County will host its first community outreach forum of the year next Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the county administration building at 398 Lewis St. from 5 to 6 p.m.
During a work session held by the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) on Feb. 10, County Manager Longinos Gonzalez explained that information will be provided on the county’s priorities for this year and that the county will be asking for public input and feedback on issues, concerns and ideas, “so please come out next Tuesday night.”
Other topics planning to be discussed include the community plan update, a potential lodgers’ tax increase, “and, if passed, how the residents would want that to be spent and what’s the smart way to spend that,” Gonzalez said.
He noted that other general government issues such as roads, infrastructure, housing and growth will also be discussed and that the format will be “a little bit free-flowing,” but that the county will “want to get a lot of feedback.”
Longinos indicated that he and at least two county commissioners will be present, adding that they “want to give time to the community to tell us what your priorities are.”
