Community invited to Peace Walk Pagosa Springs on Sept. 12

The community is invited to join Peace Walk Pagosa Springs on Friday, Sept. 12, from 8 to 9 a.m.

Participants will gather at Town Park before walking along Hot Springs Boulevard to Yamaguchi Park, then continuing up the Riverwalk and to the Ruby M. Sisson Library, where the walk will conclude in celebration of the library’s grand reopening.

The event carries a simple message: Peace is for everyone. All ages and paces are welcome to participate. Organizers ask that walkers leave signs at home, but flowers and smiles are encouraged. The walk is entirely nondenominational and nonpolitical, focused solely on bringing the community together in a spirit of goodwill.

The Peace Walk Pagosa Springs draws its inspiration from the Walk For Peace, a 2,300-mile journey last winter from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C., and organizers hope to make this a meaningful, unifying tradition for the Pagosa Springs community.

The walk’s timing also allows participants to be part of the Ruby M. Sisson Library’s grand reopening celebration, marking a joyful moment for the community.
