The Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is inviting residents to join in planning and supporting its signature annual fundraiser, the Second Chance Prom.
This much-anticipated event, slated for May, is PCI’s largest fundraiser of the year and plays a crucial role in funding community programs and services.
Initial planning meetings are underway, and PCI is calling on community members from all walks of life to lend their time, ideas and talents. Volunteers will help shape the event theme, organize tickets and donations, recruit sponsors, and coordinate on-site logistics to ensure a memorable evening for all attendees.
“Prom is more than a night of celebration,” said PCI board chair Carrie Blue-White. “It’s a community effort that funds vital initiatives — from youth programs to therapy services and family support projects. We rely on local energy and generosity to make it possible.”

PCI notes that every helping hand makes a difference, whether it’s contributing ideas, sharing connections with local businesses or donating auction items. No prior fundraising experience is necessary — enthusiasm, creativity and a collaborative spirit are what matter most.
The first planning committee meeting will be Jan. 29 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the PCI offices.
