Archuleta County Democrats/Archuleta County Republicans
Voters in Archuleta County could face a series of crucial decisions in coming months — about building a new school, funding our hospital, and raising more money to maintain roads and other county services.
A free series of Community Conversations will explore those and other issues in May and June. The series will begin with a kickoff panel discussion, to be followed in coming weeks by separate sessions on each topic.
The first conversation — an overview covering all these issues — will begin at 5:30 p.m. on May 13 in the auditorium at Pagosa Springs High School, 800 S. 8th St.
Panelists for May 13 discussion include:
• Rick Holt, superintendent of Archuleta County schools.
• Longinos Gonzalez Jr., county manager.
• Rhonda Webb, CEO and chief medical officer, Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC).
The moderator will be longtime journalist Rick Holter, who now chairs the Pagosa Springs Main Street board.
The Community Conversation will include an audience Q-and-A.
The schedule for the rest of the series:
• May 21, 5:30 p.m. — focus on school facilities, Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA) Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave.
• June 1, 5:30 p.m. — focus on PSMC finances, PLPOA Clubhouse.
• June 10, 6:30 p.m. — focus on county lodging tax, Pagosa Springs High School auditorium.
The series is presented by Archuleta County schools, PSMC, the Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation, the Archuleta County League of Women Voters, the Archuleta County Republican Party, and the Archuleta County Democratic Party.
