The Archuleta County Fund, held at the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado, has awarded its 2025 grant to the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs.
The organization will receive $10,500 to help offset revenue lost during the main street reconstruction project.
The Archuleta County Fund was established to grow permanent philanthropic resources for the Pagosa Springs community. Each year, up to 5 percent of the fund balance is distributed through an unsolicited grant process where a local committee of community members selects the recipient.
“The Archuleta County Fund is a unique way for locals to invest in the future of Pagosa Springs,” said Briggen Wrinkle, executive director of the Community Foundation. “By building this fund over time, we can ensure steady, meaningful support for nonprofits that make a real difference right here in Archuleta County.”
The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs will be recognized at the Labor Day Kickoff Concert on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club.
The event will feature live music from Soul Fire and serves as a fundraiser to grow the Archuleta County Fund. All dollars raised from the entrance fees, merchandise sales and silent auction go directly to the Archuleta County Fund.
Community members are encouraged to attend, enjoy an evening of music, participate in the silent auction and contribute to the Archuleta County Fund that directly benefits local organizations.
The entrance fee is $10, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
