The Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners has taken the first step in adopting regulations that would govern the use of geothermal resources for the commercial production of electricity in the county.
At their regular meeting Tuesday evening, the board members held a public hearing devoid of any public comment, and designated “Geothermal Resources For The Commercial Production of Electricity” as an activity of state interest by way of resolution, meaning the county can now move toward adopting regulations.
