Archuleta County Commissioner Alvin Schaaf pledged last month to work with San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) to try and make the cost of installing a septic system lower for local residents, but, according to SJBPH, those regulations are set by the state and there isn’t much local governments can do to lower the price.
