Christmas Eve candlelight service planned at Centerpoint Church

As we enter this week of Christmas, let us reflect on what this season is truly all about: God Himself came down to set up his tent in your backyard so that He could be close to you, see you, talk with you, laugh with you, cry with you and draw you into relationship with Him.

He was willing to lay aside every advantage He possessed by being God in order to fully experience what it was like to be human, so that He could fully understand how to be a merciful, faithful and sympathetic High Priest who daily prays for us.

Tempted in every way as we are — yet without sin and never once giving in to temptation — He learned obedience through the things that He suffered while on this earth. He came to rescue you and me from ourselves, our sin, our impending death — it was the greatest rescue mission this world has ever seen.

He did that for you and for me because His great love for us would not let Him remain in heaven while we went to hell — a love so deep that it defies understanding; a love so vast we run out of words before we finish describing it; a love so personal that, as believers, our very names are inscribed on the heart of God and His name forever written on each of us. We are His and He is ours.

We pray that God will bless you in a special way this Christmas, that He will minister to your heart in profound ways as He draws you closer and closer to Himself. We pray that you will experience this Christmas as never before, and that it will impact eternity by drawing you and those around you to the baby in the manger so that you will accept Him as the Savior who was born to die in your place, so that you can live with Him forever.

May this be your story and mine. May this be the most significant event in your life and the most important decision that you will ever make — recognize the baby in the manger for Who He really is, and crown Him the King and Savior of your life.

If you are looking for a family to belong to, or perhaps a candlelight service to attend this year, please join us at Centerpoint Church, 2750 Cornerstone Drive, at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve for the celebration of the birth of the Christ-child.

We will worship and adore Him together with family and friends as we remind ourselves what makes this time of year so very, very special.
