Chimney Rock National Monument will reopen Friday, Sept. 18, now that flood damage has been repaired.
During the evening of Sept. 14, severe thunderstorms impacted several areas of the monument, sending mud, rocks and debris across roadways, parking lots and paths.
Road crews and engineers completed repairs while monument staff shoveled mud and rocks out of parking lots and pathways.
