The Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce is rolling out the red carpet for car enthusiasts as it prepares to host the 17th annual Pagosa Springs Car Show at Yamaguchi Park June 12 and 13.
This year’s event promises two days of classic charm, chrome and community fun, with everything from vintage cruisers and hot rods to custom builds and specialty vehicles on display.
This is the 17th annual car show, and it has grown into one of Pagosa’s favorite early-summer traditions, drawing participants and spectators from across the region. Admission for spectators is free, offering families and visitors an easy way to enjoy live music, local food and drink, and a festive park atmosphere while they stroll among meticulously restored vehicles.
Weekend schedule and activities
This year’s car show adds several new attractions designed to broaden its appeal. A cornhole tournament and a 1/25th-scale model car show will debut this year, giving both participants and spectators more reasons to linger in the park, compete and enjoy the full weekend experience.
The festivities kick off Friday evening, June 12, at Yamaguchi Park from 5 to 8 p.m., where spectators get their first look at the lineup of show cars and model cars.
We will have live music by the Brooks-i Band, food and beverages as attendees meet car owners, talk builds and restorations, and cast early People’s Choice votes starting at 5 p.m. The pin-up contest will officially begin at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, June 13, the action continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the Show ‘n’ Shine, featuring judged competition in multiple categories and continued public voting for the People’s Choice award.
Music will run through the late morning, and food and drink vendors will be on-site to keep spectators fueled as they wander rows of cars. Corn hole registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the bags will fly at 10 a.m.
The Model Car Awards are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., and the Car Show Awards Ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, wrapping up the show and recognizing standout vehicles before the event officially closes around 3 p.m.
