Celebrate National Volunteer Month with Project Sanctuary

Posted

April is National Volunteer Month, a time to recognize and celebrate those who give their time to make a difference.

At Project Sanctuary, we know firsthand the power of volunteers. As a nonprofit dedicated to serving military families, we rely on volunteers to help us run our six-day therapeutic retreats — life-changing experiences designed to help families reconnect, heal and build a stronger future together.

Nestled in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, our retreat center, Patriot Pines, offers military families a chance to step away from daily stress and focus on wellness.

But, we can’t do it alone. Local volunteers are essential to making each retreat a success, and we invite you to be part of the mission.

Whether you have just a few hours or a few days, we have a place for you. We always need help with:

• Kitchen support: meal prep and dishwashing.

• Recreation and activities: assist with adventures.

• Youth programs: Engage and support military kids.

Volunteering with Project Sanctuary is more than just lending a hand; it’s becoming part of a family. Join us in honoring those who serve by serving them in return.
