Aspire Medical Services and Education invites the community to join the second annual Supermom 5K on Saturday, May 2, at Yamaguchi Park.
This family-friendly spring tradition brings Pagosa Springs together for movement, celebration and a fun tribute to the moms who inspire our community.
Participants can choose between the 5K run or the Kids Fun Run, and back this year from our previous Walk for Moms, individuals may also register solely as fundraisers to support Aspire’s mission even if they prefer not to run or walk. Every participant or fundraiser receives a personalized fundraising page to share with friends and family.
Check-in will open at 9:30 a.m., followed by a full morning of activities. The event begins with the Kids Fun Run at 10 a.m., an honor guard presentation at 10:30 a.m., and the San Juan Squadron will perform a flyover to officially launch the 5K at 10:45 a.m.
Aspire is honored to welcome volunteers from Vets for Vets and the Daughters of the American Revolution, whose service and support help make this event possible.
Families can enjoy a bounce house, activity booths and a festive atmosphere throughout the morning. Stick around after the race for hamburgers and hot dogs — free to enjoy, with optional donations welcomed.
As always, this event will feature the Superhero Costume Contest, with prizes for the top team costume and top individual costume. Attendees are encouraged to bring their capes, masks, and creativity to celebrate the superhero spirit of motherhood.
Proceeds from the Supermom 5K support Aspire’s mission to keep affordable prenatal care; free pregnancy tests and early ultrasounds; and free evidence-based parenting classes, baby/toddler enrichment programs, prenatal education and mental health care accessible to families throughout Archuleta County.

About Aspire
Aspire is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pagosa Springs.
As the only prenatal care provider in Archuleta County, Aspire offers affordable prenatal care, early ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, STI/STD testing and treatment, parenting education, baby/toddler classes, and a baby boutique.
Aspire also partners with local mental health providers to offer free counseling for parents of children ages 0-3, helping families access emotional support during the most formative years of their child’s development.
Through group classes, parent-child activities and community gatherings, Aspire creates a supportive network that reduces the isolation many rural parents experience.
Aspire empowers individuals and families to thrive physically, emotionally and socially by providing medical services, education and community in a safe, supportive environment.
The organization is funded primarily through community events and the generous support of individuals, churches and local businesses.
