Aspen House announces reduced fundraising goal following $1 million in community in-kind support

Aspen House is proud to announce a transformative milestone in our capital campaign: Our remaining fundraising goal has been reduced to $750,000 to complete construction of Aspen House — a 24-hour, fully supportive group home for adults with developmental disabilities in Pagosa Springs.

This extraordinary progress is possible because Tim Brown, a builder of more than 200 homes in our community, has stepped out of retirement to help bring Aspen House to life.

Brown’s commitment is deeply personal. His son, Christopher, lives with Fragile X Syndrome, and Tim Brown understands firsthand how critical it is for families to have local, long-term supports that allow adults with developmental disabilities to grow, gain independence and live meaningful, fulfilling lives.

His leadership has sparked an incredible wave of generosity, accelerating our timeline and inspiring more than $1 million in in-kind donations and discounted labor and materials from local trades and suppliers.

Together, these businesses are uniting around a shared vision — building the first home of its kind in Archuleta County and creating a lasting legacy of care, dignity and opportunity for our community.

Thanks to this unprecedented collaboration, Aspen House is moving confidently into construction. With generous support, the foundation is scheduled to be poured in late spring. The home is expected to be dried-in by late summer, with completion targeted for late 2026 to early 2027.

At that time, Aspen House will proudly welcome its first residents into a safe, stable and fully supportive environment designed to help them live full, rewarding and connected lives.

A true community-built home

This project represents the very best of Pagosa Springs and Southwest Colorado — concerned parents, friends and neighbors coming together to build something that will serve families for generations.

Aspen House gratefully acknowledges its trade partners for their in-kind contributions and commitments. Their generosity has accelerated the timeline and brought Aspen House within reach.

The final stretch: $750,000 to the finish line

Final site infrastructure and permitting is currently underway, and Aspen House is now focused on raising the final $750,000 needed to complete the construction.

In parallel, the organization is actively pursuing several grant opportunities that could help close the remaining gap and carry Aspen House across the finish line.

Now is the moment for donors to step in and be part of this historic effort. Every gift — large or small — directly advances construction and brings us closer to opening the doors to our first residents.
