Archuleta County Democrats invite community to take part in caucus and assembly March 7

Posted

The Archuleta County Democratic Party will hold its caucus and assembly on March 7 at 9 a.m. by Zoom, where community members will help shape the future of the party and decide which candidates move forward to the June 30 Democratic primary ballot.

Any registered Democrat in the county is welcome to participate in the virtual meeting.

Attendees must register for the meeting in advance. Participants will vote on candidates in contested races across the ballot, including U.S. Senate, governor, attorney general, secretary of state and treasurer. They will also select three local delegates to the state assembly.

“Caucus and assembly is how everyday Democrats have a real say in what our party stands for and who represents us,” said Shawna Seed, Archuleta County chair.

If you’re currently registered as unaffiliated and you want to participate, you will need to update your party registration no later than Thursday, Feb. 12. To check your voter registration and make changes, go to govotecolorado.org.
