Telecommunications restored after broadband outage

Posted
Update: Internet feed and cellular backhaul fibers were back online as of 8 p.m. If you continue to experience any issues on Friday morning, July 24, contact your cellular or internet provider. Sometimes some other equipment needs to be reset after restoration.

Update: The break has been located by Lumen, and crews are on site. Expected ETR (estimated time to repair) is sometime between 9pm this evening and 1am.

Update: According to the Archuleta County Broadband Services Management Office, Lumen has confirmed that there is an issue (probably a cut) with the fiber between Bayfield and Durango, so it is affecting Bayfield area cellular and Lumen DSL as well. They are still isolating the cut and won't have Estimated Time to Repair (ETR) until it has been found and assessed. Stay tuned for more updates.

The issue occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m., and as as of right now the actual cause is unknown, but investigation is ongoing.

Updates will be posted as additional information becomes available.
