‘A Christmas Carol’ offering a perfect holiday tradition through Dec. 27

As Pagosa Springs celebrates Christmas week, the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts invites the community to experience one of the season’s most enduring stories before it closes on Dec. 27.

Patrick Barlow’s “A Christmas Carol” offers a vibrant and accessible reimagining of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, making it a perfect fit for the week of Dec. 25 — a time centered on reflection, generosity and togetherness. The production captures the heart of Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey while delivering a theatrical experience that feels both timeless and fresh.

This adaptation balances humor, warmth and emotional depth, bringing Dickens’ message of compassion and renewal into sharp focus. With atmospheric staging and engaging performances, the production has become a seasonal touchstone for audiences looking to pair holiday traditions with a shared cultural experience.

As families gather and visitors arrive in Pagosa Springs for the holidays, “A Christmas Carol” offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and enjoy live theater at its most meaningful. With only a few performances remaining, the show serves as a fitting conclusion to the center’s mainstage holiday programming.

Final performances run through Dec. 27 at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. Tickets and performance information are available at pagosacenter.org or by calling (970) 731-SHOW (7469).
