Motorists and residents in the area of Piedra Road can expect construction to continue on Saturdays.
On Thursday, Archuleta County Public Works Director Ken Feyen authorized contractor Skanska to work on Saturdays as needed to make up for lost time.
The additional work day is the result of time lost on the project due the rain received over the last several weeks.
Skanska is currently placing embankment material to widen shoulders on the road next week.
Milling of the existing pavement is expected to take place the following week.
Traffic for the northern part of the paved portion of Piedra Road is being detoured to North Pagosa Boulevard via Aspenglow Boulevard.
