Thomas Fabian Romero, 87, of Durango, Colo., passed away on Nov. 4, 2023, in Chandler, Ariz. Born on April 22, 1936, Thomas was a loving and proud individual who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thomas retired from the Air Force, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. Following his military service, he pursued a career in the construction industry, utilizing his skills and expertise to contribute to various projects.

In his free time, Thomas enjoyed indulging in his hobbies, which included playing cards, going to casinos, listening to country music, watching old movies, in the early years playing his guitar, and always enjoyed conversing over a cup of coffee and a dessert.

Thomas will be remembered for his kind, funny and loving nature. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on the lives of his loved ones.

Thomas is survived by his children: Randy (Paulette), Lisa (Tito) and James. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Randy, Alyssa, Bertina, Robert, Donna (Anthony), Ruby, Leticia, EJ, Frankie and Alicia, as well as his great-grandchildren: Joseph, Erica, Kiara and Haven. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert and Angie.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte; his father, Jenero; his wife, Lillian; and his siblings, Bernie, Josie, Gracie, Irene, Jenero Jr. and Pete.

A rosary will be held in Thomas’s honor at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, located at 5712 Paradise Blvd NW in Albuquerque, N.M., on Nov. 20, 2023, at 9:30 am. This will be followed by a Mass at 10:15 and a reception. Later in the day, a graveside service with military honors will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Sandia Memorial Gardens.
