Sue Iverson, of Pagosa Springs, passed away on May 15 at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Sue was born in South Dakota on June 7, 1963, to Harvey and Margy Lindemann. The Lindemann family later relocated to Fort Collins, Colo., where she met her husband, Tim Iverson. Together, they have three amazing children, Bradley Iverson, Ashley Wilson and Michael Iverson.

Sue was an avid neighborhood walker and could be noticed many early mornings while she was out and about before sunrise on her daily walks. She immensely enjoyed gardening and, regardless of the persistent local deer, she always had enough salad fixings to share with her friends. Second to her own family, she deeply loved her church community and made sure to be as involved as possible. She cared tremendously about others, bringing gift baskets to all of her friends each Christmas, being involved in each of her kids’ schools, as well as loving her hair customers more than she loved cutting hair. Sue cared for ailing friends even as she was recovering from cancer treatments herself. The strength and willingness of her love will live on for years to come.

Sue’s empathy, caring nature and community spirit will undoubtedly forever be a small part of Pagosa Springs history.

Sue’s wit, outspokenness, unfaltering loyalty, overwhelming kindness and ever-present smile will live on in everyone who was lucky enough to get to know her.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Harvey Lindemann. Sue is survived by her husband, Tim Iverson, of Pagosa Springs; son Bradley Iverson and Lindsey Gerhke, of Seattle Wash.; daughter Ashley (Cliff) Wilson, of Johnstown, Colo.; and son Michael (Kenna) Iverson, of Durango, Colo. Sue was also blessed with two granddaughters, Colbie Wilson, of Johnstown, Colo., and Ellie Iverson, of Durango, Colo.
