Servelia Jesusita Trujillo peacefully returned to her heavenly home on Dec. 7, 2023, in Pagosa Springs, Colo. Servelia was born on Nov. 20, 1940, in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to Eugenio Montoya and Glorifica Maria Martinez. Servelia was the eldest of eight children. She cherished her childhood memories and the deep bond she had with all her siblings. She remained close to all of them throughout her life.

Servelia was a woman deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She found solace in reading and studying the Bible. She shared her profound love for the Lord with everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Louis Orland Trujillo; and several siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children: Mark (Amy) Trujillo, of Aztec, N.M.; Ron (Mary) Trujillo, of Farmington, N.M.; Richard (Marcia) Garcia of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and her daughter, Jill (Tim) Shaull, of Farmington, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She loved them all dearly. She often said there is nothing more special than being a grandma.

She is also survived by four siblings: sisters Norma (Vincente) Duran, Pagosa Springs; Rosie (Delphin) Griego, Pagosa Springs; Ruthie Salinas, Pagosa Springs; and brother Johnny Montoya, Pagosa Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Servelia’s beautiful life will be held on Jan. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Farmington, N.M. The rosary will commence at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Servelia’s ashes will be placed in the Columbarium behind the church. Everyone is welcome to join us for lunch at the Parish Hall.
