Save the date: Dancing with the Pagosa Stars to benefit Seeds of Learning

Posted

It is time to pick out your Pagosa finest dress threads, dust off the bling and mark your calendar to attend the star-studded event of the summer — the seventh annual Dancing with the Pagosa Stars.

On Aug. 17, local celebrities will slip into their costumes and dance their hearts out, competing to raise critically needed funds for Seeds of Learning.

These generous celebrities are all people that are recognized as leaders in our community. They will partner with professional coaches to present a dazzling night of dancing and fun. You will be able to buy tickets to support your favorite dancers and vote as many times as you want, with each vote costing $1.

The celebrity raising the most money from ticket sales and voting will get bragging rights and take home the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy at the end of the night.

The identities of the chosen celebrities are under wraps until the big reveal on May 23, when voting for your favorite stars will be officially open. You are not going to believe who we have dancing this year.

For the most up-to-date news on the event, follow Dancing with the Pagosa Stars on Facebook at facebook.com/Dancingstarspagosa/ or visit our website at growingseeds.org, where tickets for this much anticipated event will go on sale July 1 at 9 a.m.

Jason Cox and Joe Jordan will be returning as the emcees for this year’s event, providing endless entertainment leading up to and during the performance. Both gentlemen are no strangers to this popular event. Jordan’s wife, Chantelle, was a star dancer in 2022 and Cox was a star dancer in 2019.

Seeds is extremely grateful to welcome our amazing director, Kylie Ross, who is working hard to make this night special. Ross has 26 years of dance experience and has been teaching since 2010. With a passion for the stage, she has had countless opportunities to be involved with productions as a teacher, choreographer and performer. She moved to Pagosa Springs in 2018 and has been ecstatic to find dance opportunities here in productions such as Dancing with the Pagosa Stars.

This month, 26 children will graduate from Seeds and attend kindergarten in the fall. History tells us these children will excel among their peers because of Seeds’ age-appropriate education programing and curriculum.  Many children have been able to attend Seeds because of the generosity and support from this event. Seeds offers a sliding scale tuition based on each individual family’s income, with more than 75 percent of families receiving financial assistance. The future of our community’s 2.5- to 5-year-olds lies in the hands of generous individual donors and local businesses.

More details about this incredible evening will follow. Mark your calendar for Aug. 17 to support your favorite Pagosa celebrity and help educate the future leaders of Pagosa Springs.
