Law enforcement respond to shooting incident, investigation reveals no firearms discharged

On Friday, Nov. 17, at approximately 9:38 a.m., Archuleta County Combined Dispatch received a call relating to a shooting incident at a local residence within the county, according to a press release from Sheriff Mike Le Roux.

The Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the call, with mutual aid response from Colorado State Patrol and Pagosa Springs Police Department, states the press release.

The first-responding units immediately secured the scene, including a larger incident perimeter. Upon arrival of additional law enforcement units, access to the residence was initiated with the assistance of a drone, the release states.

The residence was cleared and declared safe, it notes. An investigation revealed that no firearms were discharged prior to law enforcement response nor during the response to this call.

One male subject, uninjured, was transported to Pagosa Springs Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

All units cleared from the scene at approximately 12:14 p.m.
