Katie was born in Englewood, Colo., to the parents of Michael and Stacie Demchak. She was raised in the Denver area and as a child enjoyed gymnastics and rock climbing. She graduated 10th in her class from Highlands Ranch High School in 2015. She studied mathematics at Metropolitan State University in Denver and Fort Lewis College in Durango. Her hobbies and interests included photography, nature, drawing and rock hounding. In recent years she lived with her father in Pagosa Springs, Colo. She loved animals, and worked at the Humane Society and Doggy Day Care here in Pagosa.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. It will be held at the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in the Greenbriar Plaza (301 N. Pagosa Blvd., Unit B-15, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147) The service will be conducted by her father, Michael Demchak. Please join us as we mourn our loss, as well as celebrate and honor Katie’s life. She was a special, creative and caring person that touched many who knew her. She will be missed dearly. The service is open to all.
