During the month of August, public transit agencies around the state of Colorado are joining together to take part in the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative. This initiative is designed to reduce ozone by increasing the use of public transit.

The Mountain Express Transit (MET), operated by Archuleta County, provides a normal bus service, dial-a-ride services and transportation to and from Durango and Arboles every other week. All services are free for the month of August.

Durango Transit and the RoadRunner, out of Ignacio, are also participating in this initiative. Bustang, which runs to Denver and other metropolitan areas, will be half price the month of August.

Call the MET at (970) 264-2250 for reservation and bus route information. Or, find out more on the website: archuletacounty.org/520/Transportation
