This summer’s 19th Hole Concerts at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club raised a record-breaking $13,125 for five Archuleta County nonprofits, with each nonprofit receiving a grant for $2,625.
The recipient organizations were Aspen House and Aspen Services, Humane Society of Pagosa Springs, Pagosa Springs Instrumental Music Society, Upper San Juan Search and Rescue, and Veterans Memorial Park.
This year generated the largest grants in the eight-year history of the concerts, raising nearly $3,500 more than last year — a 35 percent increase. The 19th Hole Concerts featured a different local music talent at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club on Thursday evenings in June, with one concert rescheduled for July due to inclement weather. The cover charge for each concert was a $10, and all proceeds were pooled and distributed evenly to the five selected nonprofits.
“This is one of my favorite summertime events we facilitate,” said Joseph Kuzma, community outreach manager for the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado. “It is such a pleasure to enjoy some gorgeous Colorado evenings with breathtaking views at the golf club, while seeing the community come out to support our featured organizations.
“Our Archuleta committee does an outstanding job helping to coordinate these events. We always welcome new volunteers to assist in organizing this grant opportunity, so please reach out if you are interested in joining our team.”
