After receiving 21 inches of snow, Wolf Creek Ski Area announced Sunday afternoon it will open for its 85th season on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
According to the ski area, the Bonanza, Treasure and Nova lifts will be operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Oct. 22, giving access to roughly 30 percent of the mountain. The Magic Carpet will be open for the Wolf Pup and Wolf Rider programs.
With more snow and winter conditions, more terrain and lifts will open, it notes.
Opening Day festivities will take place with skiers and boarders who are wearing the anniversary colors of red and gold receiving a commemorative 85th anniversary sticker. There will be fun events and activities throughout the season.
According to the ski area, the midway depth is 16 inches. The surface conditions are machine groomed with early-season conditions and unmarked obstacles.
