TARA Community Center announces Saturday events

Posted

Come and visit the TARA Community Center in Arboles this Saturday, May 10, and enjoy some of the activities offered.

The TARA Food Pantry will be holding a plant sale fundraiser. Vegetables, herbs, perennials, flowers, houseplants, seeds, bulbs, compost and containers are some of what you will be able to choose from.

The TARA Thrift Store will be holding a bag sale and a furniture closeout sale. Fill a bag for $3 and find some bargains. Proceeds benefit the TARA Community Center.

The TARA Library is open for all to choose from hundreds of books and many DVDs. It is a lending library. Choose books or DVDs, enjoy them and return them when you can. When young people come to the library, our librarian will read them a story of their choice. There is always a puzzle happening at the puzzle table.

Visit the Historical Corner also. Look at the relics and treasures of the area in the showcases. There are also many interesting postings on the wall for all to enjoy. There is a historical video offered to explain the interesting history of the area.

One of the pantry volunteers will be making taco soup to share on this special day. All activities will be held at the TARA Community Center at 333 Milton Lane in Arboles from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
