Our volunteers are amazing. Since many of our patrons hold jobs during daytime hours, they have not been able to shop the pantry. So, several volunteers stepped up and committed to run the pantry on Saturdays to accommodate those who could only visit the pantry on weekends.
Starting Feb. 8, Our Community Eats will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Now open five days a week, the other days of operation are Monday (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.), Wednesday (4 to 6 p.m.), Thursday (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Friday (10 a.m. to noon). We are closed on Tuesdays and Sundays.
Given that we receive last-minute donated perishables on Friday, we will be able to get this food into the hands of our patrons sooner.
We welcome anyone in the Archuleta County area that needs food assistance. Our Community Eats is located at 197 Navajo Trail Drive.
