The Pagosa Springs Police Department (PSPD) recently responded to an incident where a 60-year-old female was struck by a vehicle while leaving a local store.

According to an email from Police Chief William Rockensock, PSPD officers and emergency services were dispatched to the parking lot of Natural Grocers at approximately 2:06 p.m. on Oct. 10 in response to a female being struck by a vehicle in the parking area.

“The investigation determined a Toyota truck driven by 69-year-old Cathy Larson was making a left turn in the parking lot directly in front of the store’s main entrance,” the email states.

Rockensock further describes the 60-year-old female was leaving the front of the store and stepped off the curb when she was struck by the front of the Toyota, knocking her down.

The woman was transported to Pagosa Springs Medical Center for treatment and care, Rockensock indicates.

Larson was cited for careless driving, he notes.
