Lou passed away Feb. 4, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A memorial service was held on Feb. 22, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Delta, Colo.
Lou was born on Oct. 18, 1961, in Espanola, N.M., to Eloisa and Reymundo Maes. She grew up in Pagosa Springs, Colo., and graduated from Pagosa Springs High School. She met Wes Fay and was married on June 1, 1986. They celebrated 39 years of marriage together. Together they eventually made their way to Delta County and would make Delta their home. Lou was happiest when spending time outside gardening, camping, crafting and spending time with her family.
Lou is survived by her spouse, Wes Fay of Delta, Colo.; her daughter, Anna Barrier, of Grand Junction, Colo.; her siblings, Manuel Trujillo, Elaine Maes and Terri Mael; and her grandchildren, Brynlee and Bryson Barrier, of Grand Junction, Colo.
Lou Fay is preceded in death by her parents, Eloisa and Reymundo Maes, and her brother, Leroy Maes.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
